Who's behind it, what it's for and how to get involved.
Purpose
What the association is for.
The association pursues exclusively and directly charitable purposes: promoting public education as well as science and research, particularly in software development and artificial intelligence.
Open knowledge
Learning and teaching materials plus open-source software, accessible to everyone.
Mentoring
Entry formats, especially for people who are under-represented in the tech industry.
Collaboration
With schools, universities, libraries and other charitable institutions, plus public communication of the opportunities and risks of AI.
Openness
Open to everyone.
Regardless of gender and gender identity, sexual orientation, origin, skin colour, language, religion or belief, age, disability and social status. And explicitly regardless of experience: someone who has never programmed is just as welcome as someone who does it for a living.
How we treat each other is set out in the code of conduct. It's deliberately short: a shared understanding, not a set of procedures. It applies to all events and online spaces of the association. In case of conflict there are two trusted persons, at least one of them outside the board.

Elected by the general meeting. Any two board members represent the association jointly. All positions are voluntary.

Become a member.
Membership is free of charge, as the general meeting decided unanimously on 17.08.2026. The association is funded by voluntary donations.
You can come on Monday any time without being a member. If you want to help carry and shape the association, send us an informal email with the sentence "I hereby apply for membership of the Vibe Coding Hamburg association." That's all it takes. The board decides on admission.

Registration status: the association has been founded and carries the suffix "i. Gr." (in formation). Registration with the register of associations and the application for charitable status are under way. Until the tax office confirms charitable status, we cannot issue donation receipts.
